Betsy & Matt wedding photographer | La Crosse, Wisconsin

After sunny 90 degree temperatures on Friday, clouds & cooler temps moved in for last Saturday’s wedding in La Crosse, WI. There was also very good chances for rain. However, even with the colder air and rain, everything just seemed to work perfectly for Betsy and Matt’s wedding.

It seemed that every time we wanted to go outside for pictures, it either stopped raining or was just the slightest drizzle. During the ceremony, it rained. Afterwards, it stopped. Then as we drove to Traditions Restaurant for some photos, it rained pretty hard. Once we got there, it stopped. We drove to the La Crosse Country Club, it rained. Again, once we got there, it stopped. Then after we went inside for dinner, it rained again. Everything just fell into place for them on their wedding day.

Not to mention that on Friday night, there was a fire in the building connected to the store that held Matt’s tux and it just ended up with a little smoke smell that an early morning dry cleaning took care of.

Betsy & Matt decided not to see each other beforehand. Once I arrived, the ladies & guys were in their separate rooms getting ready. The ring bearer was patiently waiting as his mother finished getting ready…

While Betsy and the bridesmaids were getting ready, Matt, along with an usher and groomsman were having a little fun…

Betsy looked so happy as she got her wedding dress on. I love big smiles like this…

This is one you definitely need to click on and see in a larger size. Just moments before, Betsy’s father had walked in to see her for the first time a few minutes before the ceremony. I love how everyone is so concentrated on the veil, but Betsy’s father can’t take his eyes of her while he smiles with pride. I can see where she gets her smile from as he didn’t stop smiling while in the room…

There’s always so much emotion as a wedding ceremony begins and their wedding was no different. Here’s Matt giving his Mom a great big hug before he walks up to the altar…

Another tender loving moment right before they lit their unity candle…

and they were all smiles as they walked back down the aisle as husband & wife…

During the wedding reception at the La Crosse Country Club, the tables were decorated so nicely and to add a touch of their own, Betsy & Matt created centerpieces with musical artists’ names/pictures, which also acted as table “numbers”. On each centerpiece, they wrote how those artists & their music played a part in their lives. I thought that was a clever way to distinguish each table. After dinner, they had a local band, Double Take, perform live music for their guests to dance the night away…

Soon after a few songs, it was time for the first dance. After dancing with her father and his mother, Betsy & Matt embraced to have their first dance together. Another beautiful moment of two people in love. You can almost feel the closeness between them in this particular photo.

Love truly is a powerful, beautiful feeling…

Congratulations again and I wish you both a beautiful life together! Thank you for having me as your wedding photographer. Overall, another beautiful wedding! I’m so happy for you both, Betsy and Matt, especially when the rains parted each time we went outside. I think it’s just one of those things that are unexplainable, but at the same time – just meant to be…
