Shaunna & Chris | Wisconsin Rapids, WI wedding

Rain or shine.

It’s a term people will use when they’ve planned something and no matter the weather, the event must go on. Of course we all hope and wish for beautiful weather, but in reality, we don’t have any control over Mother Nature.

So what if the planned event is an outdoor wedding in a beautiful, natural setting? Why not take it in stride and go with it? Turn the “rain or shine” attitude into “rain & shine”? Meaning, if it does rain on your wedding day, will that affect the feelings you have for your loved one? I sincerely doubt it. So if it rains, may your love shine like it never has before.

That “rain & shine” seemed to be present during my Wisconsin Rapids, WI wedding at the beginning of the June. The clouds seemed to be breaking up on my way there and the forecast on my phone looked promising as I waited to meet Shaunna at her hotel.

When she arrived, she was smiling so brightly. A little nervous, but that’s to be expected. It’s your wedding day after all. From there, that was the start of her wedding day photography…

Even when getting her hair done, Shaunna was still smiling…

It never hurts to have a few eyes on the back of your head…

Steady hands…

Shaunna had a beautiful handmade real peacock feather hairpiece… it helps when you have peacocks!

As we arrived at Nepco Lake County Park, the rain began to fall. However, the show must go on. Plans were made to continue with the outdoor ceremony. A little rain never hurt nobody. As the rain fell, they set up the ceremony area under a beautiful pine tree setting. Meanwhile, Shaunna was becoming the bride she had waited to be…

They still hadn’t seen each other yet and Chris needed to make sure he looked his best for his bride…

More smiles…

Standing in the rain, waiting for the start of the ceremony…

With the help of her father & bridesmaids, Shaunna made it to the ceremony as dry as she could be… and still smiling…

Even in the rain, it was still a beautiful setting…

Smiling all the back to the shelter, Shaunna & Chris greeted everyone who came for their wedding. Inside was a patchwork quilt that was created by all who love them…

After a large homestyle dinner, complete with a roasted pig, it was time to cut the cake. Along with a little cake smashing…

Soon after, tables were cleared, the DJ was ready and the dance began. With the first dance as husband & wife… and still full of smiles…

Shaunna’s father gave her an emotional hug as they finished their dance…

Chris & his mother smiled the whole time…

And soon after that, the bridal party made sure to get as many people on the dancefloor as they could…

Even the guys who said they weren’t dancing, made it out to the dancefloor and literally “got down”…

Followed by more of the guests, they danced the night away…

Congrats to you both, Shaunna & Chris! May you continue to smile and may your love shine like it did on your wedding day…
