Winona Cotter auction donation

I’ve created a massive canvas gallery wrap of a photographic image of Winona that can no longer be seen. The final size of the canvas is 10″x50″ with mounting hardware already installed. There is a limited edition of three of these canvas prints available and Winona Cotter Schools has one up for grabs at their 30th annual Cotter Auction.

Minnesota Marine Art Museum prom photos in Winona, MN

April 26th, 2008 – I photographed some high school kids who were going to prom together at the new Minnesota Marine Art Museum in Winona, MN. I photographed senior portraits for one of the girls last summer, so she looked me up to take a few shots of her and her friends before their senior prom.

They were dressed so nice and added a little fun by wearing funky, colorful shoes! Here’s some photos from the shoot.

We headed outside and braved the chilly winds, but it was fun! I like their expressions on this one – just having a good time with friends!

My photography published and WSU Warriors win in Winona, MN!

This past Sunday issue of the Winona Post newspaper featured a story about the WSU men’s basketball team. Also just last week, there was an announcement of Jonte Flowers and Jon Smith being named as 2008 Daktronics NCAA Division II North Central Region Co-Players of the Year. These two guys also volunteered for their photo to be taken for BBBS of Greater Winona – Bowl for Kid’s Sake fundraiser promotional posters, which I also volunteered to shoot. The photo I took of Jonte and Jon was recently published in the Winona Post newspaper. Link to the story here.

The Winona State University men’s basketball team won last night’s semifinal game in the North Central Region tournament with an 80-67 victory over Nebraska-Omaha at McCown Gymnasium in Winona, MN. They are now headed to the North Central Region Championship game against Northern State on Tuesday at 7pm.

2008 Bowl For Kid’s Sake photos with a touch of my own

As I prepare the photos to send to the ad agency for preparation of the promotional posters for the 2008 Bowl for Kid’s Sake fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Winona, I thought I’d add my own unique touch to really make the photos “pop”. I use a number of different post-processing techniques and I feel that the photos are much more striking because of it. Now, whether or not the ad agency uses them for the posters, that’s to be determined – however, it would be nice to see a distinctive photo relay an important message.

Compare my “finished” version compared to the regular version. I’d love to hear any comments that anyone may have!

2008 Bowl For Kid’s Sake event photos – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Winona

Tonight I had the pleasure of volunteering my time for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Winona at Westgate Bowl & Wellington’s Backwater Brewing Company here in Winona, Minnesota. The “Superheroes” were a list of “who’s who” in Winona, MN and I believe everyone that was involved had a great time in creating the photos. Here’s a little sampling of the Winona’s superheroes, from Mayor Jerry Miller to standout Winona State basketball players, Jonte Flowers & Jon Smith:
