Don’t be afraid to venture out into an unfamiliar place when taking your wedding photos. It could result in beautiful imagery. You’d be surprised of how a different location can change the ‘feel’ of a photo…

**photo taken in Whitewater State Park in Elba, Minnesota**
There was so many wonderful things going on once the autumn season finally settled in here in our area. The weather was outstanding and made for some great colors & views of the trees & leaves along rolling bluffs along the Mississippi River. I personally think it would be hard to leave the area, even though I usually can’t stand the winter months. Snow & cold temps just are not for me…
As one’s life progresses, you get a little older, find a college to attend, maybe find a job, move from home, you figure out the true friends (or a linchpin) in your life and meet new ones, finish school, then find a career, perhaps you meet that special someone and a new adventure begins. Sometimes that new adventure will take you to new places. Away from home. That’s what brings me to Megan & Nick. Continue reading and to see their wedding photos

Life works in mysterious ways sometimes. The reason I say this is because you’ll never know what the future may bring or who’ll you meet. Again.
Now bare with me as I feel I have to tell this little story & the reason I say this is because years ago, as a child, I used to visit & stay with my grandparents during my summer vacation in a small town of Hudson, IA. It was like having a second home with another whole group of childhood friends. Granted now with Facebook, I can chat & see what those old friends are up to and see how their lives have changed since we were kids running around Hudson. I have so many great memories from that time in my life. It was amazing.

My wife & I met for the first time while employed at the same company and never really talked to each until we had a company Christmas party around 5-6 months later. A little over a year after that party, we were married. We’re coming up on our 10 year anniversary this coming January. The reason I bring this up is, Katie & Scott met while working for the same organization and as they say – the rest was history.
It seemed like a perfect setting for the ceremony at Katie’s parent’s home. You can’t make it any more personal than that. I also wonder what it felt like to get ready in the same room you grew up in. From the weather, the personal setting of the home crowded by all the family & friends, the beautiful details & decor added by Weddings By Nancy, the lovely music by the Seven River Strings Quartet, bouquets & floral from Flowers On Broadway, service at Visions Event Center and to the live reception music by Incognito – the day really came together perfectly for two of the nicest people.
Please enjoy the photos of Katie & Scott’s beautiful wedding day… Read More

right on it’s shore and seeing the waves in the water – reminds me of warmer, summer months now that it’s nearing the end of winter here in Minnesota. Here’s one from a past wedding which was held at Larsmont Cottages Resort.

My last wedding of September took place in Alma, Wisconsin. Everything seemed to fall into place for Jennifer & Chris considering it had rained and rained and rained some more earlier in the week, which caused lots of flooding in many nearby communities along the Mississippi River valley.
However, on this day, the bad weather held off and made for a perfect autumn day to have an outdoor wedding.
Jennifer spent the morning getting ready with a few of her relatives at the Tritsch House in Alma. A few images from there…
